Understanding Samsung Washing Machine Error Codes

No one likes dealing with error codes: they can be difficult to understand and frustrating to troubleshoot. With Samsung washing machines, it’s especially challenging due to the complexity of their error codes. This can leave you wondering what it all means and how to fix the problem.

When troubleshooting Samsung washing machine error codes, there’s an array of possible fault codes. Each error code has a letter and number combination and often has a brief description with it. To decipher these error messages, you’ll need to use the list of codes provided with the product documentation or contact customer service for assistance.

For example, dE, dC and uE are commonly seen Samsung error codes and the machine will beep when they appear. The dE indicates the door of the machine isn’t closed properly; dC indicates that water isn’t continuously circulating within the machine; and uE indicates the machine can’t sense the amount of unbalanced laundry. To fix, you’d need to adjust the door latch, clear any blockages in the intake and drain hoses, or redistribute the items in the drum of the machine, respectively.

Other codes such as tE, SE, 5E and 4E can be caused due to a faulty or failing water heater or main PCB (Printed Circuit Board). This requires a trained technician to diagnose and repair the machine, someone who knows their way around the appliance and understands how to repair the inner mechanisms.
